Soccer, Soccer, Soccer

Taylor is about half way through her fall soccer season and is improving with every game! I LOVE it!! They haven't won a game, but they have been looking good.
And she's getting a little more aggressive!! I never thought I'd be so excited about my daughter knocking someone to the ground, but any soccer mom understands I guess. I even cheered at this game when she knocked someone over, then had to apologize for my craziness. Those of you that know Taylor, know what I'm talking about. She doesn't have an aggressive bone in her body (unless she is with her brothers!)

And here's a photo of Drew at his game. We only have one photo, because moments after this one was taken, he ran off the field and lost his lunch and we quickly took him home! He is doing well and enjoying playing!

Wayne County Fair 2009!!

Another year, another Wayne County Fair! Again this year, Paps joined us for some of the day and had to share some Ice Cream and Bloomin' Onion with the kids! We rode rides, looked at tractors and enjoyed interacting with all the exciting farm animals.

Riding the bumper cars. Not sure Drew enjoyed it as much in the passenger seat. But it was about a 35 minute wait, so that was our only time on them.

The boys on the Ferris Wheel. May be Drew's last chance to ride with Toby! Kinda Sad!
Toby ran into several friends while at the fair. Here he is with a church buddy, Conner.
Taylor And Drew waited again about 35 minutes but got to take a ride on the BIG Ferris Wheel. They were adorable together!
I think Toby touched every single bunny in the barn. Then we went into the poultry barn and I thought for sure he was going to stick his hands into their pens, luckily, my warnings must have been stern enough and we saved all his fingers.
Taylor had a few favorites!
Toby was sure that this poor guy needed to eat.
I was surprised Toby wasn't scared to death. He's growing so much in so many ways! But he was sure to tell this clown exactly what kind of balloon he wanted.
And for some reason, the clown requested this photo... a little creepy !?!
This was one of Toby's favorite rides, the dragon roller coaster!
And all three kids on the Crazy Bus. I think I'm going to need a Crazy Bus when we get to the point where all the kids are too big to ride these rides. I look forward to this each year!
As usual, Toby enjoyed a lot of the evening on dad's shoulders, but he didn't want his photo taken!
It took a lot of coaxing on Taylor's part to get Drew on this ride, but I think he really enjoyed it!
And the annual photo at the church booth!

Cute Toby Story..

On Thursday, I kept Drew home from school, as he was battling sour belly all week so we thought we needed to give him a full day of rest. So I got to take Toby to preschool. On the way there, as we were getting closer to his school, Toby said "Mommy, I bet Miss Shell (Miss Michelle) is saying ' Where's Toby?'". And then he began to scream... "Here I am Miss Shell, I'm not on the bus today! Mommy's bringing me!".

I just thought it was cute that he was worried his teacher was missing him and wanted her to know where he was! He's growing up too darn fast!

Grandparents Day 2009

This year, the kids had Grandparents Day at school a lot earlier than usual. It was always in the Spring in the past. But this year, they had it Fair Week, which worked out Wonderful because Paps always takes Fair Week off from work, so he was in town and got to go this year. The kids were so excited.

Here are the kids with Grandma Derri and Paps!

And here they are with Grandma Debbie and Papaw Rudy.

And while this wasn't taken at school. It was taken on Fair Day at the county fair (more of those photos soon!). I just thought it fit better on this post! I love it!!

Newest Mills Soccer Star

Toby started Soccer this week. He has been looking forward to this for a long time! I'm sure watching your older brother and sister for so long has got to be a drag. Tuesday was his first practice and it didn't go over very well. Mommy couldn't be there, but Daddy said he had no desire to listen to Coach Chico, nor play an "organized" game of soccer. But today, I think he understood a little more of what was expected of him... and he got a nice nap this afternoon!

Regardless of the fact that he was heading away from the ball 75% of the time! I was very proud of him! We went to the Ice Cream Store afterward, which he was even more excited about... as was I since you got free ice cream for making a donation to Make A Wish!

Let's Roll

Well, I was hoping to have another post for September 11, and didn't get one. But I went to the County Fair tonight and saw Ray Stevens. Most of you probably have no idea who he is, but I have fond memories of many hours in the car on the way to Canada as a youngster listening to his cassettes (yeah, it was that long ago!) for 8 or 9 hours straight! We would laugh ourselves silly!

Tonight I went to the show at the fair and really enjoyed listening to Ray Stevens again. Just laughing silly as I did back in the day. But there was one song, in the middle of his comedy act, that had me in tears for another reason. He sang the song Thank You! I remember this song from my younger years, but it took on a whole new meaning as I sat and listened to him sing Thanks to the service Men and Women of all branches, and all that they sacrifice. Here are the lyrics.

Lyrics | Ray Stevens lyrics - Thank You lyrics

I tried to find a video of the song and didn't have very good luck, but I did find this video of a newer song of his entitled "Let's Roll". I'm sure you can understand why I thought it would be appropriate to post this video only a few days after Patriot Day.

September 11, 2009

I really wish I had time to post what is on my heart this morning, but I don't! I hope to come back tonight and post, but until then, I just pray that we all remember and pray for those who lost their lives, and the families that were left behind 8 years ago. Also, continue to pray for our service men and women who continue to sacrifice unselfishly, no matter what is going on in our crazy childish politics here in the US, to protect each and every one of us, Republican and Democrat; Red and Yellow, Black and White; Male and Female; Young and Old; Those who support our troops and those who do not. There are moms, dads, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews putting their lives at risk, living many sleepless nights so that WE can go to bed each night, often times forgetting the TERROR that still exists, and the possibility that without them serving, September 11 could happen again.

Even with all of that....God is Good...

Labor Day!

This year for Labor Day, we decided to pack up and head to the Zoo! Here's our usual photo!! And all the kids are looking YEAH!!!
Toby was daddy's little buddy at the zoo this year, must have been the hats :) And the gorillas crack me up. I love how they sit there with their backs to everyone.

Half way through the Dinosaur exhibit, the skies opened up! Here we are waiting it out under a tent!

When it stopped raining, we were soaked, so we finished the Dinosaurs and then headed home. As you can see, Toby conquered his fears of Dinosaurs (because you know we see so many in these parts) and got this photo with his brother and sister. And then as we were walking away, he even put his head in the dinosaurs mouth like Drew did! Cracked us up!

Toby's First Day of School!!

Well! Toby was supposed to start school last Wednesday, September 2nd and he was very excited, but then... September 1st happened! On Monday, he was having a rough day and we thought it was a cold, but by Monday night, it was getting worse, fast! So Tuesday morning we took him to the doctor and he ended up having a breathing treatment. This was the first episode of breathing problems that he has had. After a day of medication and trips (yes multiple) to the doctor, we decided the best thing would be to be in the Hospital overnight. So Tuesday night, Toby and I spent the evening at Wooster Community Hospital and he received several breathing treatments. Here he is in his bed Tuesday night...

And here he is enjoying his wagon ride out of the hospital on Wednesday morning. Much happier than he was 24 hours previously.

But unfortunately, he missed the first day of school. So the following morning, he was doing wonderfully so we were back to getting him to school. But as you can see, he wasn't thrilled about the picture thing...

Until his "Dorothy" aka Taylor was with him. So on Toby's first day, we got a photo of everyone!

He's back to riding the bus and loving it, and his first full week (well minus Labor Day) was great! He really loves his teachers and looks forward to being with them! Hope he continues to feel that way!
